Planning your registry shouldn’t have to be so stressful. As a first time mom, I know what it’s like to spend countless hours researching what you might need to survive those first few months of motherhood. That being said, I also understand that every baby is different, and thus, what is needed during that newborn bubble is different for everyone. These are my most used newborn items that made those magical, exhausting first 8 weeks just a bit easier. I hope some of these items might help you too. Newton Baby Bassinet & Bedside Sleeper– A Favorite Among My Most Used Newborn Items Having a safe sleep space for our baby was a top priority and a huge area of anxiety. While the Newton Baby Bassinet & Bedside Sleeper might seem like a splurge, the peace of mind it gave us was priceless. Our baby was comfortable in the bassinet from that first night home. As a bonus, the bassinet is light enough to move from room to room if necessary with relative ease. It is also easy to clean which is essential and secures the Newton Baby Bassinet a spot among our most used newborn items. 2. Tubby Todd Baby Bundle Newborn Skin Care Set– A Favorite Among My Most Used Newborn Items The Tubby Todd Newborn Skin Care Set wasn’t something I was sure would be used, but what started as something added to our baby registry on a whim quickly became one of our most used newborn items. It might surprise you (it sure did us) that newborns often have various skin irritations pop up in the first few months as their skin adjusts to the outside world. The Tubby Todd All Over Ointment was amazing for treating baby acne and cheek rash from cradle cap. The shampoo and body wash didn’t irritate our baby’s skin and the lotion made a great final step to the bath time routine. For cradle cap treatment their Bye-Bye Cradle Cap gel worked wonders. 3. Owlet Dream Sock – A Favorite Among My Most Used Newborn Items Some would argue that the Owlet can become a source of more anxiety, but for us, it offers peace of mind. Honestly, it was the only thing that allowed us to get any sleep at all. That alone secure it’s spot among our newborn essential items. 4. VTech V-Hush Soothing Sleep Trainer Night light, thermometer, sound machine, and projector all in one. We use the V-Hush Soothing Sleep Trainer every single night and sometimes for naps too. It is so convenient to be able to control it from an app. 5. Hatch Rest Go A portable sound machine wasn’t something we were convinced we needed until that first car ride with baby. Having it clipped on the diaper bag is a must, and the battery life it simply astounding. 6. Halo SleepSack Wearable Blanket – A Favorite Among My Most Used Newborn Items From the very beginning our baby was prone to breaking out of swaddles. She simply loved to sleep with her arms free, and so, the Halo SleepSack Wearable Blanket offered the perfect solution to still have that extra layer of coziness while still allowing our baby’s arms to be free. She has slept in one every single night, and without a doubt they are one of the essential most used newborn items we’ve used. If your baby does enjoy being swaddled the Halo SleepSack Swaddles are a great option. 7. Muslin Burp Cloths They always say you can’t have enough burp cloths, and that sentiment has proven true in our experience. We love Comfy Cubs muslin burp cloths and use several on the daily. 8. Willow Find Your Flow Feeding Kit If you are breastfeeding, this kit is a must in those early days. It includes several items like soothing silver cups and hot therapy pads that offer some relief from the discomfort. These are things you might not think to add to your baby registry, but you’ll be happy to have once your little one is here. 9. Diaper Bag Tote There are tons of more expensive options out there, but this diaper bag tote had everything we were looking for at a price that didn’t make use feel guilty for including it on our baby registry. It can be worn several ways, includes a changing pad, and has insulated pockets all without compromising on style. That’s a win in our book. 10. Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail Sure, you could use a regular trash can, but the Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail does what it claims when it comes to holding in the smell. It has been well used in these first few months, and we even plan to continue using it when we transition to cloth diapering by using the Esembly diaper pail pouch. The convenience of being able to use any trash bag is a huge plus.
