Restaurants to Try in Gatlinburg
From our many trips to Gatlinburg over the years, we’ve had some great and lack-luster dining experiences. Keep reading to view some of the great restaurants we’ve discovered in Gatlinburg. Many of these were discovered before I had to go gluten free, but I’ve noted a few that I’ve tried since that I’ve had success with (see * by the name). In the future, I hope to make a separate list of gluten free options for Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. If gluten free dining options interest you, make sure to sign up for our newsletter to stay updated on new posts concerning those!

The Park Grill*
We had overlooked The Park Grill for years, but recently decided to give it a shot in search of gluten free options in town. This restaurant did not disappoint and had lots of gluten free options available. The Moonshine Chicken was seriously amazing, and best of all, I did not get sick. Win-win! We will be going back next time we are in town.
LandShark Bar & Grill*
The LandShark Bar & Grill was another restaurant we tried in search of safe gluten free dining options. This was another successful stop dining experience in which I did not get sick. The food was good, and the servers were courteous when answering my questions. The LandShark Bar & Grill is conveniently located near both Ripley’s Aquarium and Anakeesta.
Smokey Mountain Brewery
The Smokey Mountain Brewery is an old favorite of the restaurants we’ve tried in Gatlinburg. From the drinks to the food to the atmosphere, it is a great time. Their menu does include some items that can be prepared gluten free, but I haven’t been since going gluten free so, I can’t speak on cross contamination. They have locations in both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and are open until midnight.
Ole Red
If you’re looking for live entertainment and a fun atmosphere, Ole Red is a great choice. You can check out their upcoming live music schedule on their website. It is important to note that they do not take reservations.
Crawdaddy’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar
We’ve eaten at Crawdaddy’s a few times and have enjoyed it every time. They have a location set up for live music, though we haven’t been on a night that they had it. Overall, it’s a cool place with good food that is worth a stop.
Pancake Pantry
Yes, a breakfast place did make our list, but they also have lunch options. Once you visit this place, you’ll understand. Located just outside The Village Shops in downtown, the charm of the Pancake Pantry was more than enough to draw us in. The great pancakes were just icing on the proverbial cake. The restaurant’s atmosphere was lovely, and we would definitely return for breakfast/brunch (open daily 7am-3pm).
Sweet Treats in Gatlinburg
Donut Friar
Also located in The Village Shops, the Donut Friar is a small bakery offering some truly incredible treats. Do yourself a favor and try their glazed croissants. They open at 5am, and you can view their estimated schedule for when certain items will be available daily.
Ole Smokey Candy Kitchen
Stop to watch the taffy pulling through the window, but stay to browse the extensive selection of sweet treats (seriously, they have some of everything). We’ve loved their unique chocolate truffle options like Pina Colada and Maple Creme. They are located just beside the Pancake Pantry in The Village Shops.
Aunt Mahalia’s Candies
This is our go to stop for fudge and licorice. If you’re of the unpopular opinion that black licorice is superior, then I’d recommend trying some from Aunt Mahalia’s!
